...on your 1,000th career hit. The low-key Scutaro's accomplishment kind of got lost in all the excitement of another milestone achievement. Scut has really been hitting the ball lately. Congratulations, Marco! -

Posted by devildavidHere here. Scutaro is putting together a season not unlike his contract year in Toronto. Funny, because two months ago, there was much ado about Scutaro never living up to that year and Theo being fooled by his career year. Funny how baseball works. Gotta kinda wait the whole season storyline out before submitting grades. But, that doesn't stop many of the immediate-gratification-crew from running amok around here writing epitaphs and firing up the stakes for the burnings. -

Scutaro's numbers this year are mostly attributed to Ells great year.
No one wants to face Ells so Marco sees a whole lot of good pitches to hit.Who would you rather face Marco or Ells? -

It's an interesting point that you make, Jim. I don't think it's all that fair though. Scutaro has hit in many different spots in the order this year. If he were hitting 9th all year, I'd agree with you, but he has hit everywhere. The truth is, Scutaro has put together a very solid, if quiet, year at the plate.
