    Crawbust

Marketing campaign that hasn't increased ratings enough to cover the 20M amortized payment schedule. The team's essential move was AGon, with Crawford being a ball and chain for many years to come. But for Crawford, the team would be better this year and better for years to come. Winning a championship does not validate Crawford's 142M contract decision.

smw shows fox and espn baseball ratings up over last year, but down from previous years. NESN is in the same boat, and that's not enough to return the 20M on Crawbust ad campaign.

Why are you so concerned with the team's ROI on individual players? As long as they don't go bankrupt why do you care?

Crawford has completed approximately 3% of his contract, I'll see this bust topic again in seven years.

It matters on the CBT and how much the Red Sox have to spend to get players that make up for the Crawford bust contract. That's why I care..................

Lugo's contract was a bust, thanks to Inepstein. He likes to pay for career seasons. Lugo fielded the position well, on a wire to wire basis in 2007.

"Lowrie is an elite MLB SS"  Tom-UK. He's weak v. RHP and does belly flops on routine DP balls, but who cares about things like defense and hitting RHP.

I'm quite certain the Crawford contact decisions were made in the context of sufficient money coming off the books elsewhere to provide for whatever financial flexbility they will need down the road. If nothing else, this management/ownership team thinks in terms of long-range planning.

They've got it covered, just enjoy the roller coaster ride of the season. Most fans measure the team's success by making it to the post-season. If they do that, Crawford is earning his contract for your purposes as a fan.

Because that's what you are. You're not the team's CFO.

So -.4 is fielding the position well, while -.8 is awful?

Also, this guy knows what's up.
