Being nice isn't woking. He gets paid the same, regardless, so the Lugo treatment might make him motivate to make the boos stop. Thank you.

you mean Crawford the guy with 3 walk off hits already this season and practically a .300 avg since May?

29 posts and this is what you go with, you should be banned just for mentioning Lugo's name let alone comparing him to Crawford.

No, the guy who has a Mendoza BA and under .300 OBP.

Seeing as how you frequently write that Jed Lowrie is an elite MLB SS, you might want extend Crawford and give him a 200M contract over 2 years.

Re: Crawford Deserves The Lugo Treatment

Crawford is batting .286 in May. Career wise, his OBP is only about .330, so if you were expecting Crawford to have an OBP around .400, then you had bad expectations to begin with.

Crawford is instead doing the 'intangible' of clutch that I always hated about him when he played in Tampa. Whenever Crawford was at bat late in the inning I was nervously at the edge of my seat. Crawford has produced in similar late inning situations this season for us, and if he could continue the .280 pace he has in May, then we're getting from Crawford about what should've been expected going into the season.

Crawford is a bust. Lugo was the starting SS, wire to wire, on the 2007 championship team. Lowrie has the face, feet and hands of a loser, which has followed his entire career.

And what will you say if Crawford is the starting LF, wire to wire, on a 2011 championship team? Can't believe I just said that.

I'd like to see the scouting report on the elite MLB SS that has the range of Boog Powell, a rubber arm and hands of stone.

Can't you find anything byond Wikipedia by yourself?

    Scouting Report
: Intelligent shortstop with a decent glove and average range. Arm is strong but could use work on throwing accuracy. Initially slated for a possible move back to second base (where he played in college) because of sub-par defensive projections. However, his defense has really improved during his time in the Sox system, and he has proven to have the ability to play adequately at shortstop and third base in the Major Leagues.  Average speed on the basepaths.  Demonstrated plus power for a middle infielder in college, but now looks to have gap power and not a lot of home-run pop. Hits for average very well, and equally from both sides of the plate. Outstanding plate discipline; in true Red Sox form, his best attribute may be his ability to work pitchers for good at-bats
. Injury prone, particularly his wrist.

It's SoxProspects not me. I was waiting for softy to  pounce, but it did say "HR pop" which could be construed as there existing such a thing as "Double/Triple pop" in baseball vernacular.

Jed has "pop". He many never hit 20 or 25 HRs, but he can hit for 60+ extra base hits. (career: 65 EBHs per 665 PAs)

    2011 Lowrie v. RHP  BA .241 OBP .313 SLG .333 OPS .646

    Most pitchers are RHP

Lowrie already has 7 errors, to go along with a big negative SS UZR

Lowrie has yet to play a full season as an everyday MLB player

If they had 8 players who hit like CC . Their record would be 10 and 26 the guy has been a bust. Site his walkoff hits if you will, while your at it site the LOB stats for CC . He can't hit decent Lefties, like Sabathia, Price period. he struggles against all lefties breaking stuff.
Maybe he will improve, at Tampa Bay he was pitched around, in Boston he is pitched to get out. he is a weak link in Boston, he was a strong link in Tampa. Lets see who would you rather pitch to, Ortiz , Drew (maybe) Lowrie, Dah Dah Dah ahhhhhhhhh. Crawford, no power , can't slow stuff. Just don't walk him, and you'll be right. Fortunately you can't steal first.

For those who like his Gaudy walk off numbers, "even a blind squirrel finds an acorn sometimes". He will be the biggest bust in baseball history. Even gimpy legged hitters can stretch singles into doubles when he is in left. did you see the left fieder Baker turn a single into a double on a wall ball. baker was running on one leg. DAHHHHH Crawfords weak throw was to the SS side and late, he has no arm, he can't hit the guy is an absolute Turkey so far. Great signing Theo. The Cap will be going to $300 million next year.

We have Crawford for awhile, beetches ... how about you appreciate his 3 walk off wins?  The Sox are a great team with him, I don't care if he makes a trillion dollars an inning.  The Sox are now 1/2 game out, and threads like this go to show how some of you need shock therapy, and lots of it.

One FA name linked to LF in Boston for 2011 was Maglio Ordonez. In 84 games in 2010 he had an .852 OPS.

So far he has put up a .458 in 26 games before going on the DL with an ankle problem that he may not get back soon from.

    At least CC is playing.
