I didn't think he would come to Boston anyway.
    Are we really signing Beltran?

probably, but only if Papi walks and how much is Beltran worth if Cuddyer accepts 25mm/3yrs contract ($8.3mm per year)??

Nice, Cuddyer isn't a value beyond 2 years and 6M.

You can't just throw out numbers unless you are STUPID. and where the hell did you come up with 2 years and 6M???

    Cherington fiddles while Boston burns.

If that is the case, everyone is going to go after him for that value.

It is not about the value of Cuddyer, it is the value on how much these MLB players are being paid in nowsdays!!

Yes, it is about Cuddyer's value, not about what other team's will pay. Take a look at Crawford, you two impish drivel drones. I know more about market value and actual value than the two of you know about the ad valorem tax.

Hank Williams has more intellect than the majority of writers here combined.

The value of a player in free agency or in a trade is dependent on the collectice opinions of "

    Owners
    GMs
    Other Front Office personnel
    Scouts
    Player
    Agent
    The media hype
    A team's weakness / holes
    The economy / projected revenue

All of these factors lumped together determine the market value of a player.

That's cheap money. Why pay Ortiz $14M per year?

I have always suspected Cuddyer would return to the Twins.  He had interest in doing so, and they stated they had interest in keeping him there.  Now they have proven they mean it.  Good for him, I hope he takes the deal.

As for Beltran, only if Papi walks.  And the odds of that are about 1 in 30 right about now...in other words, very low.

If you know more about market value compared to actual value. Then why did the Twins offer Cuddyer 3yrs/25mm... Especially if he only worth 2yrs/6mm???
Like stated earlier... dont just throw numbers out there...

Not crazy about Cuddyer either.  He's basically a .790 OPS player with declining fielding.  What'll he be at the end of three years?

Why did Epstein offer Crawford 142M and bid against himself. You don't know the difference between value and market value.

Intellect would not involve resorting to cheap shots with name calling of all things. Does he know a lot about baseball among other things? I think he does, but the childish remarks tell a different story. He thinks I'm a child, but I've never had to resort to that. Just sayin'.

Having said that, it could just come from insecurity.
