    Darnell McDonald

Tito, please stop putting Darnell McDonald in your lineup. There has to be a better alternative somehwhere. He is supposed to be someone who hits left handers. When will he start doing this?? He couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat in Boston Harbor.

Couldn't agree more, and what's more Tito went against his supposed favorite "strategy" of righty on lefty, lefty on righty. Why not CC in left, Salty as DH? I completely agree with posters on other threads who decry Tito's "I surrender" line-ups where he puts all our worst hitters in at the same time. Who doesn't think the opposing pitcher doesn't walk out there in the first inning thinking "sweet" when he sees those "oh well, we won the first game of the double-header or the 3 game series, so I afford to give one away" line-ups Tito likes to use.

No question about it.    Right now the bench is a little thin to say the least.

This is one big reason I wanted to try and get Francouer. He can hit lefties and field much better than DMac, esp in RF.

That was also my hope. Randy Choate looked like a decent leftie specialist as well. If batting DMac against lefties hasn't brought much production, hitting him against righties has been downright painful to watch

You had it right -- and still do. Recall that many people said that no RHed bat was needed because Reddick was tearing it up. WAS.

I can tell you I've been preaching for a RH hitting outfielder (preferably with some power) since Bay was never replaced.

I always felt Jason Bay was a good player who fit our team well. Theo outsmarted himself on that one. Picking up Crawford was nice but this team is way too left handed than it should be, Drew, Reddick, Ellsbury, AGON, Ortiz. They need a right handed hitter with power to compliment their ball park. They do not have this and its comuing back to haunt them.

AL, it's not rocket science out there on what the needs are. The Sox just won't follow that philosophy of filling needs against grabbing wants.

I heard on WEEI that Jason Bay cleared waivers today... What if the Mets pay over half of his salary?  We'd be stuck with him for another 2 seasons but it may give us the boost we need for 2011.  Especially with the injuries.

Jason Bay is currently in one of his o-fer streaks, i.e., 0 for 19 with 10 K's. He's had at least six of these so far this year.  Come to think of it, he would fit right in with the current Sox lineup.

Tito and the players should be accountable for their struggles. He is not putting the right line up and players are just assuming that playoffs are given. In a perfect world everyone should be paid on how they perform not how they did...but we dont live in perfect world. This team start hitting soon or else we are out of playoff contention.

If DMac could field, we could make half a case.

His time has come. He did a great job in emergency duty last year.

    Thank you DMac.

Good luck with your new team.
