    Darnell McDonald

This guy is not a major leaguer, can't filed run or hit. Why do we have him and can't BC find anything better like Cespedes?

No sir.  The Boston Red Sox have the most #5 OF'ers in all of baseball yet only have ONE Major League Center Fielder in their entire orginization.

Both in Oakland and in Boston, Ryan Sweeney has shown that he's a perfectly capable ML centerfielder.

No offense meant but Lin is the best pure CF'er in the entire Sox system though Jackie Bradley might steal that title soon. Ellsbury is an OK CF but he is brittle.

So you're comparing a #5 OF making $450k to a guy that just got signed for $32,000,000?

Actually, Kalsih also plays CF, and I think he's the guy that replaces Ellsbury.

Still, except for the fact that Kalish, Lin, Bradley, and Sweeney all play CF, AndreMitch is right about us not having any CFs.

Kalish has nice upside, but I really don't think he is anywhere near a sure bet MLB OF'er, even if healthy.

Posted by moonslav59[/QUOTE]I agree. And a lost season and half of AAA development doesn't help in forecasting Kalish's future.

The basic concept for the OF coming into ST of Crawford, Ellsbury and a Sweeney and Ross combo probably was pretty solid. How one can forecast or cover having all 4 of those guys plus others on the DL at once is beyond me.

Losing Kalish and Westmoreland is just a shame but it seems to have happened

Could have had Ellsbury, Kalish, and Westmoreland all in the OF together.........would have been nice.
