Yeah, I don't see why 2-1/2 minutes out of a 3+ hour game gets folks so wound up.

What can I say? I hate Neil Diamond.

Isn't that basic supply and demand. If demand for a product goes down, shouldn't if follow that there are price cuts. I don't know why that should be criticized.

I understand the process and what they are doing. Im just a little sour about the whole sellout streak thing. Its almost like that was more important than making the right moves for the team. they have changed and went back to the old ways of doing things which brought this team 2 WSC, and for that i am thankful.

I think that is my whole point....teams want to portray their product in the best possible light.....and having a product that sells out every night creates buzz and demand which sells the tickets....keeps the sell outs going and keeps the buzz going...etc......all team do it to some extent...if it was so easy for teams to "say" they are sold out every night....then other teams would have long sell out streaks.....the Sox were able to do it because the fact is they were selling out 98% of the tickets for each game.....nothing sinister in that.....Apple and many companies limit their production and release of new products to build demand for them...no one forces people to want them and buy them.....but people are sheep.

    Why?

You obviously think the Yankees did it out of the goodness of their heart and not an attempt to demonstrate ticket demand.

It's the same thing, whether or not you want to believe it.

A contrived sell out streak supposedly stimulates demand and so does a TV shot of full seats.

    It's not that complicated.

I really don't think the concession move is going to help them sell more tickets in April....with School still in session you are the free kids meals will not make a difference....any guy who a $5 beer vs a $7.50 beer would make the difference on whether they go to the game would probably be willing to pay the $7.50 for the beer, since it was so important to him....all that said, lowering the prices is a good thing and a good PR move...so no reason to complain about it.
