Give Cashman some credit, at least he's thinking outside the box. No one looking to trade a 1b or 3b this time of the year, basically leaves players who don't have a place in other teams organizations. The Ben Francisco's of the world are not going to get Yanks where they want to be. If Chipper came out of retirement [we know he can still hit - field different story] DH'd for a couple of mos. and gave Yanks a quality bat in middle of their lineup until Granderdson or Tex return, what would be wrong w/ that? Even though Chipper said "Thanks, but no Thanks" at least Cash is making every attempt to make his team better. With RS luck if Chipper or D.Lee said yes they'd probably hit .310 w/ 6 hrs 21 rbi's for the mos of april.

Yes, the NYY were basically healthy for the ALCS, but managed to finish 1st and win 95 games despite their own long string of injuries which they persevered through, but it started catching up to them in September; Would you like to feebly debate that? However, their resilient character in 2012 shall be non existent this yr IMO, due to the departures of Chavez, Ibanez, & others. Bench is important. And yes, you are posturing, in response to my comment, which was a response to others in a slightly different context. Few in the media, Boston included, think the RS were nothing but a dismal failure in the past few yrs, injuries or not.

It does, and good point; I was thinking of responding to it, but didn't. My bad. It should be reported. And I've posted in the past other responses to some of his unsavory posts. Sometimes, he's a good poster; he blows hot & cold.

He's washed up Jete. All he did was stand in Todd Frazier's way last year, and the bum struck out with the tying runs on base to end the game against SF and lose the series. Also errored a ball in game three, which contributed largely to the Red's loss in that game. He was great once, not no mo. He just can't do it anymore.

 

 

i agree Exam, just saying he's not retired in the "traditonal" sense, tho he probably should be....was terrific for a long time, but is clearly not the answer for the Yanks..nor is Lee or Chipper(who i WILL miss as a player).....
