Red Sox are slumping. Oh, I'm sorry. You people already are aware of that.

Wow. How perceptive. And if by some miracle the Red Sox get in the playoffs and have to play the Tigers......guarenteed three game sweep for Detroit. By the time this implosion is over there will be many teams with better records than the woeful Red Sox.

And who beyond Verlander is going to dominate the sox lineup if they face each other in the playoffs? And if you say Fister and Scherzer, you would be wrong.

The Tigers play in a division with 4 teams that are under .500.  Record between AL east #2 and Tigers/Rangers means nothing anyway.  Wild Card goes on the road.

Beat Verlander in game 1 and the Tigers will look pretty vulnerable pretty quick.

After the final day of the regular season the following teams will have a better record than the Red Sox:

    Yankees
    Rays
    Tigers
    Rangers
    Angels
    Phillies
    Braves
    Brewers
    DBacks
    Cardinals
    Giants

Remember the wonderful four months from May thru August when we were right there fighting for the best record in baseball? Seems so long ago.

They do, but since they're not in our division or fighting us for the wild card, I don't care.

Re: Detroit Better Record than RS

Why are we comparing Detriot or Arizona or etc against Boston when they are playing in one of the weakiest three bottom divisions in baseball.   Detriot is playing in a division where there is no one will be above .500 while the AL East including maybe Toronto all are .500 ball club.  A forth place Toronto team could be a second place in the central division.

Stop it!!  Who care Detriot will have a better record than Boston.   Also Detriot could leapfrog the Yankees for the best AL record due Detriot will play no one while Yankees got Boston/Tampa in the last two weeks of the season!!

Doug Fister shut out the Red Sox over 5+ innings enroute to a Seattle win at Fenway Park on April 30 and has improved as the season has progressed.

Fister walked five Red Sox hitters in those 5+ innings, but has walked only five hitters in 51+ innings since joining the Tigers.
