The Seattle manager is available since he just might get his pink slip tomorrow. Why not email Theo and lobby to get him. Tell him that you are the King.

NAR! Get rid of Waste-Field, trade Bells-ber-ry for a pro-file like KEMP, and stop eating potato salad!
Honestly, do you realize how silly you sound repeating this stuff over and over again?

That's what they teach at the Fort Lauderdale troll school. They now have a course of how to nickname players like a ten year old would do - Slackey, Beck-hit, Papsmear, Lackluster, Wastefield, NancyDrew. Babe got a Gold Star in that course.

Best #5 in baseball.  No idea why Coma leaves a 44 year old in the game into the 7th on a 95 degree day.  It just doesn;t make sense. Blame COma for using Wake to eat more innings, idiots. How many #5 pitchers keep their team in the game every 6 days?   Not many. Look around the league.
    Posted by RidingWithTheKing

It was an eight-run game, Wake was pitching well. I'm sure Francona asked Wake if he had another inning in him. It's not about stats, it's about winning. If he could go another inning, that helps the bullpen and that helps the team.

The idiots are people who make a big deal about it.

If it was a 6-3 or 5-3 game, Wake might not even have come out for the seventh.

When you fully hate 12 current Sox players, like softy does, it's easy to find one having a bad game on any given day.

Yes, that's the advantage of building such a large roster of targets.

Wakefield is the Ultimate Junk Pitcher ever!!!!

He'll eat a ton of innings, that is until the other team see it enough to be able to hit it.

Roy, right on the money. If this is a close game, Wake never comes out for the seventh and he nets a win and that over-rated "quality start". Fact is, he did have a quality start and once again allowed his team to win, but that will never discourage the ultimate contrarian who just refuses to enjoy this great ride.

How many #5 have the best line-up in baseball behind them. The law of diminishing returns is in full effect on Wake, the more he pitches the more he gets exposed.

Harness will be here shortly to defend the guy who sets himself up as a target. You may not like the target but Harness claims that a common target is a forum unifier. So is a pile of dog excrement on your front lawn if you want flies.

Salty / Tek combo .....  Best in the MLB due to Tek's tutelage

SS / Scutaro struggling since Lowrie's injury

Reddick's Killing LH pitching!!!  Yet, this clown wants D'Mac as 4th OFer

JUST WHAT DOES billbyboy EVER GET RIGHT??????

I think Boston.com is paying this guy so others can feel brilliant knocking down his pathetic player analysis????

    Roy,

You've got it right. If it were a close game it would have been a different issue and I'm sure Wakefield would have been pulled sooner, but with an 8 run lead why go to the bullpen immediately. If Wakefield can pitch another inning and rest a staff member why not do so.

Our team is having a great season despite injuries to the starting rotation that might devastate other teams, but with Theo always on the lookout for additional help the Sox continue to win. Let's enjoy the season !!

The Sox are now 25 games over .500 with the second best record in MLB and some are still referring to Francona, Ellsbury and others in negative terms, name calling, etc. It's evident that some folks are never happy.

Hillbillyboy never gets it right. He just doesn't get it at all, sort of like Betterdeadthanred, Aliibike, etc. Some people just like to see themselves in print and they are among the Trolls we put up with. No matter how well the Sox are doing, great year Ells is having, etc all these few do is trash the team, Francona, Ells, etc any way they may.

for all those who want to DFA Wakefield I have a simple yes/no question that does not require any commentary.

Did Wakefield get the win today?  Yes or No.

lets not get carried away. The guy gave up 7 runs. He's very fortunate he pitches for a team with offensive producers. No other team would give him a sniff. He got bailed out big time in the first inning.

How many of you want him to get a start in the playoffs? Get real.

With all due respect "Riding", the ONLY reason the Sox were in this game was because they scored 12 runs, 11 of which were scored while Wake was on the mound.  Wake's line, as I'm sure you know for today, was 10 hits, 1 BB, and 7 earned runs in 6.1 innings.  Not exactly stellar even for a 5th starter.  As usual, Francona left his starter in to get his 5 innings so that he could get the win.  Considering how hot it was, Wake should have never come out to start the 6th, and for sure the 7th, but that's Francona continuing MO for you.  Saving arms seems to be more of a priority to Francona than winning games.  Oh well, that the Sox won is the only thing that really counts, and that Wake got his 2,000th K.    GO SOX!
