I don't know why something of such value to a team could be overlooked.

Kim, it's not overlooked. It's under reported. Teams release content on their web page. Both the A's and NYY's chose to say little and nothing on this move. I 'll give it a couple of weeks, maybe sooner. MLB blogger Jane Lee will have something on this I'm hoping. As far as Jim Miller going to NYY, that was reported.
