What's his save rate vs the Sox?  It's gotta be under 80%.  Where I come from you lose your closer title after a season where you only saved 80% of your chances.....

He has blown I guess 16 out of 74 save opps v. Sox...Sox nail him once a year, but play them some 18 games a year. Is it a big deal?

Re: Did Mariano get the save last night?

I got a better way of putting this in perspective. Do you really want to see Mariano Rivera coming into a game in the postseason between Yanks and Sox? My answer: no. Why? That would mean the Sox were either behind or in a tie with the Yanks in the 9th inning of a playoff game. Not where I want the team to be. If you think he's going to blow 2 in a row v. Sox, I'm going to bet a lot of money against my own team.

CORRECT, SIR!!! (went into Bill-806 mode)....that's my point. I don't want to face anyone's closer in any playoff game. Odds aren't good.

Schiraldi and BJ Kim were two guys who just you wanted them to come in as hitters, but I'd say 95 percent of the closers will probably do their job. So no way am I tempting the baseball gods as to wanting to see a closer for any team. Rather win every game 10-2.

Oh that's easy.  Just throw Charles Carstens out there every game!

I thought YES's policy is show replays of all the Yankee perfect games after losses.
