So basically you're saying they need to "win in more exciting fashion"?

Yeah, when Naps and Middlebrooks get going, and Papi returns.  Ball Ross hit was out but for the cold weather, that would have turned the game; expect good homer totals from sox this season.

Gomes will hit some HRs. Pedey will crush some high fastballs over the monster. Ells will hit his fair share out. Plus Naps, papi and WMB could all hit 30 HR this year too. Salty could hit another 20+

    +1 LOL

Just happy that they are winning, getting on base, and seeming to function as a team. Also happy that Victorino is delivering key hits and Iggy leads the team in hits.

HRs will come when Papi comes back and Napoli gets to Fenway.

3 games without a HR is hardly disturbing. They won 2 of 3 games without one. seems like a good sign to me, especially when they do start hitting a few. And they will.

    2nd in league in scoring

-0- HRs probably has something to do with facing two lefties in YS.  You stack the lineup with righties, but YS does not treat righties kindly.

The Tigers were homerless after 3 games too.  With their lineup against the awful Twins' pitching.

    Also, the Royals and Pirates...

Napoli and Middlebrooks both hit shots that could have been out had the weather been better.

    The power will come.

ZERO HRs in 3 games.. like the moneyball approach but chicks love the longball and so do ratings. small ball only goes so far and no further. papi is worth at least 25 when he reyurns, perhaps that would help napoli who's good for 20 as well as shavac. the rest are slap guys incl ells, pedy, jbj and so forth...

SF has done a pretty good job playing small ball the past few years. The steroid era is over and whether chicks like it or not the occasional bunt for a base hit, such as Iglesias laid down last night, is a thing a beauty for some of us baseball nuts.

Id rather the sox hit Zero homeruns and be 2-1 than hit 5 or 6 homeruns and be 0-3.

If one is disturbed by three games without  a homerun, perhaps one should try a handful of mood stabilizers.

Yes, I would think the outlook has changed now that Middlebrooks is on pace to hit 108 HR, and Napoli is on pace for 189 RBI. Laughing

    Before today's game

Jays 11 home runs and 22 RBIs 2-3

Red Sox 2 HR and 23 RBI 3-2

    ------------------------------------

Now RS 8 HRs and 36 RBIs

Jay 11 HR and 22 RBI

    Which is better?

At least fans have learned their lesson to let 2 games go by before making overstatements.

3 games have gone by and we have no perfect games. I'm done.
