Do you think A-GON could hit.400 a year playing half his games in Fenway Park?

I never thought he'd be this good. He's hitting .350+ at almost the half way point of this season. If he picks it up a mere 15% in the second half he's got it. His glove work is second to none. The thing that works against him though is his lack of speed. He won't get many infield hits. It'll be fun watching him try for it if he has a late season chance.

15 more hits out of every 100 official plate appearances.

Gonzo is unselfish, and will ground out to move a guy over, or just try and do what the situation calls for.  Not sure his great attitude translates into a .400 average, seems Ted would take as many walks as he could get.  Gonzo will swing at ball 4 to try and get a run in.

No. I would be very happy if he could hit .350 for the year.

Maybe, but not this yr due to the 'slow start'. LOL, he could hit only .370.

.350 is pretty exceptional.  It would be hard to imagine that he would maintain a .350 BA considering his incredibly slow foot speed.  .335 is probably more realistic which is still really good especially for someone projected to drive in approximately 135 runs!

So far this season Adrian Gonzalez is averaging about 32 hits per 100 plate appearances. It's probably not realistic to expect a significant increase to 47 hits per 100 plate appearances the remainder of the season.

.350, It makes the task seem less daunting than stating he'd have to hit .450 the second half if the .350 number stays in play for the first half. We're talking the 2011 season only.

Uhmm, he does play half his games at The Fens....and no I don't think he will hit .400, but absolutely love the fact that he is on our team for years to come.

For a guy whose career BA was .288 coming into this season, this is phenomenol. Granted, he played in pitcher friendly Petco so the numbers are good for that park, but as much as I'd like to see it, I don't think anyone, even Agon, will ever hit .400 again.
