Dodgers will be unloading contracts and selling soon: Who Should the Red Sox trade for?

This should be a good yard sale to get to early. Red Sox have a few needs for 2012 and beyond, young RH OF solid overall hitting slugger, catcher. Great place try and hook up on a trade that will fit both teams, long term.

ya if they are selling i would go all out for matt kemp. He is a perfect fit for the sox as he is young, right handed, solid defensively. Eithier would be good too but is just not as good a fit.

Kemp and ethier would be ideal.  I'd move jake as part of that deal, probably with lowrie and a half dozen ML guys...

MLB is going to have to go to a 2 DH 4 OF allignment to meet the fancies of Red Sox Nation.

It is like when Costanza thought he was going to get the assistant GM job, "I figured out how we could get Bonds and Griffey in the same OF, and it won't cost that much."

Kemp makes sense as the backfill for Drew who, thank goodness, is in his fifth and final year with the Sox.  If Theo and John Henry can stand the pressure on the purse strings, Kemp this year would be a huge improvement over Cameron or McDonald.

Dumping Jake and Lowrie makes no sense.

Dealing Ellsbury and/or Lowrie makes perfect sense. They aren't likely to be extended or signed as FA. Kalish should be retained, on DL right now, and both Kalish and Reddick should be moved up the line.

    2011:

    LF Crawford/Cameron
    CF Kemp/Cameron
    RF Drew/Cameron

    2012:

    LF Kemp
    CF Kalish
RF Crawford (sorry Carl, you need to make your 20M a year useful in RF)

LH Reddick and other farm hands

Chances are that MLB will do everything in its power to make sure the Dodgers retain Kemp and Ethier. They are the team now and in the future, such as it is. Without them, the franchise is effectively gutted.
    But you never know.
People who think Ellsbury has trouble tracking balls should see Kemp in action. It ain't pretty. Evidence suggests that Kemp is a superbly athletic man who has absolutely no feel for the game of baseball.  That includes baserunning.

The sox are NOT resigning Cameron for next year.. hes even suggested retiring..Hes a butcher for an outfielder these days. And CC's not so strong arm would be exposed in Fenways big RF..His speed would work, but the weak arm isnt worth it. Im all about unloading Reddick and Anderson if we can. Id be OK for a fill-in 1 year RH/RF'r and see what maybe Hassan or Brentz do in 2011/12...Kemp's bat would be nice too...Hes gonna cost in arb next year probably around 10-12mil..hes making 7+ this year...

We better not let Ells or Lowrie go.  U guys want to dump Lowrie who is batting as good as any MLB short stop for the future of Iglesias who will be a gold glover, but never hit nearly as good as Lowrie?

    No way.

Our catching is better than the LAD catching.

The only RH OF from LAD that can play is Kemp, and he's overrated, and likely unattainable without a large payment.

Dealing Ells makes no sense since he is one of the main reasons why the Sox have recovered from their miserable start. I think they will extend Ellsbury since he is a great player. A lot better than Kalish. Kalish was struggling in Pawtucket before he got hurt. He also has very little power and left handed. They have enough left handed outfielders.

What, Kemp's defense isn't good enough to keep him in CF past the age of 27?

Oh what the heck....let's get both Kemp and Ethier!

Everyone knows when teams are on the block, they trade away their best players, so nobody wants them, and the price goes down.
