While they seem to be running away with the division they are starting to look very human. -

aside from their Left Coast trip, their first real rough patch this half, fortunately they've had room to work, though i wouldn't recommend a continuation, due to the opposite side of the coin being the O's, Rays and Sox haven't had a real roll yet this half..Yanks need to get above just maintaining.. -

As currently constructed, this team IMO shall not do well in the PS (assuming they get there, which is likely). They don't play situational baseball, cannot manufacture runs when the long ball is not there (a common occurrence when you face better P), and practically never bunt; something the Casey Stengel teams did quite often.
It wouldn't suprise me if they pick up a hitter, maybe even today, due to Teixiera's injury status; if so, I hope it's a slap hitter, i.e, a Casey Kotchman type. -

6 of the 8 losses are by 1 run; a bad sign -

They're most definitely mortal, but I can't imagine anyone overtaking them in the East. -

My post was based on the cliche "1 run losses are indicative of a bad team". That's all. I know they have a great record, and the P is good, but ....
you mean they couldn't bunt in the 9th inning last night? -

Good point. But do you really believe there's no difference between a blowout early on, where your starter gets knocked around, and Rivera blowing a save in a one run game?
I'd much rather see a starter get whalloped early on than watch a meltdown with two outs in the ninth. -

Teixeira's MRI shows no sign of structural damage. Good news for Yanks fans, not so for Sox fans. But still, he will miss time, and there are no guarantees about his effectiveness once he returns. With ARod down, the mighty Yankee lineup is not so fearsome at the moment. It should be interesting to see how the next 2-3 weeks shake out for our two teams.
Also will be interesting to see how quickly Teixeira returns. BorASS is still his agent, no? -
