    I don't think Sox will offer more than 4 yrs and pay him around $16-18M annually.  4 yr $70M would be the max IMO.  But he will get better option in terms of yrs from another team and leaves.  Even without Havey next season, I think Mets will offer him 6 yrs + option and $15-16M annual payment.

    Well, that is how Boston finish the season.  If they win the world series this year.  Boston can let him walk and take the best offer he can find.  Boston still would offer him, but more likely just for four to five years contract.   If he do not like it, then Boston can say "you are just like Damon, Pedro, Bay, etc who all walked away for a better contract, and still ended up being injured in year 3 to 5"
