    Epstein Compensation

Did I miss an announcement as to who or what the Sox received for Theo? This was supposed to be settled a month ago.

You missed nothing, friend. They are still dithering.

Bud Selig, who vowed to step in and settle this once and for all, has settled nothing.

Hey, Bud!  You gonna settle the compensation for Theo any time soon?

    Oh, right. I forgot.

[QUOTE]fun post summerof67 but I'm thinking RSN would be all over bud if he forced the sox to settle it now if they wanted to wait until after  the rule 5 draft

Excellent point, Zac.  If they can wait, they should.

But I was just having a little fun at Bud's expense.

    Cool

From one Jessey to another (ie), welcome to the board. Be careful about using logic here, it can get you in trouble.

It makes little sense for a rebuilding team such as the Cubs to send a prospect to a win-now team such the Red Sox. An MLB-ready player such as Marlon Byrd would be logical compensation.

I agree with your logic here.  They could also do a bigger trade with the Sox giving up another prospect or two for another player (as has been suggested with Garza).  And because of this, it is why they want to wait until after the Rule 5 draft IMO, so as not to leave another player unproctected.

    Re: Epstein Compensation

I was thinking the Cubs should just take Jenks and his $6M owed as compensation for Theo... Crawford would be better, and would be poetic justice for Theo.
