One thing to keep in mind about the trade "prices" people have suggested is that the Mariners would likely be VERY happy to get any prospect(s) of value in a Bedard trade. He was a flier resigning by them...he needed to rebuild his value, and they figured it would give them a chance to actually get something out of the trade they made a few years ago.

The Sox would not trade anyone like Lowrie or Kalish, as they have plans for them beyond this year, for a rental like Bedard. But one of the reasons teams try to build minor league depth is for opportunities like this...trade away your excess for a piece that can really help this year.
