In Response to Fill the Void?:
[QUOTE]Do the Sox make a big move to bolster teams chances going forward? At what cost, and where is the void? Does JD Drew return? Does Papi get multi year deal to stay here? Do we have enough band aids to go around for this pitching staff? Do we have enough weapons this year to take it all? Chime In

Lowrie and a lelft handed hitting OF?
    What a genius billygoat is.
They already have 2,750 lefty hitting OF here and in the system.
As for Lowrie, how many trips to the DL does it take for anyone to realize, it's never going to happen for him.
Like Reddick, everyone has the big one duee to his hot starts every year.
Everyone forgets the long fade to oblivion.
Oh, and there's NO salary cap in baseball.
Where do these people come from?

The low offensive production in rightfield and mediocre shortstop defense pale in comparison to the now gapening hole at the top of the rotation.  They could probably get by without a fix or major upgrade of the former, but the latter could short circuit them.  The latest news on Buch is disconcerting and the best hope now is for Lester to heal and regain form and for Beckett to get over this knee problem quickly.

Their rotation is beginning to look like the Yankee's rotation without CC.

There is a cap in baseball, it's just not a hard cap. The sawx don't want to pay luxury tax, which was pretty evident by the whole agone extension charade.

With the news of buchholz  is seems to me like they will need to make a deal for a starting pitcher before they make a deal for a RF. Reddick seems to be fine out there for now.

    Re: Fill the Void?

It is encouraging that Reddick has thus far handled changeups. Some rookies tee off on the fastball for a couple weeks but can't adjust to a major-league change. (Navarro, for example.) Reddick hasn't had any difficulty with them yet.

Doubront may be ready for another shot at the majors. Weiland gets a second chance against Baltimore next week, but they could trade places after that if needed.

    Re: Fill the Void?

Go out and get the best available arm possible right now
and re-align your pitching staff accordingly.......Lowrie (needs to prove he is healthy) and (unfortunately) Reddick and someone like Bowden could be bundled to a team in a package for an arm............Jonathan Sanchez...Heath Bell.......
