Fire the piece of garbage Francona!

Two more little league baserunning errors tonight and during a season you really need a manager that can tell players when they've screwed up and not just say, "oh, that's in the past" all season long.

I was complaining about Francona when we were winning because bad baseball is bad baseball, and it usually catches up with you. That's three times in recent years it's caught up with Francona. He gets more talent than anybody and does so little with it.

A frog could've managed this team to 100 wins. Francona managed 90.

    Fire the clown.

Tim bogar waved scuturo to homes so not franconas fault. I cant see how you can blame this all on the manager, the fault lies with the players and most recently the pitching end of story.

They make 2 baserunning errors every night and you don't think the manager is responsible? You need to open your eyes. Only a buffoon would lead a collapse such as this, and a nightly showing of awful baseball.

It freaking blows that Francona couldn't get the starting pitchers to not pitch like total pieces of trash for a month. All his fault.

Can't hang this season's results on Francona.  He didn't pick-up Lackey and Crawford fail to get the RS a major league catcher.  We can thank Theo for that. Francona made the best moves he could with what he had.  But he'll probably pay with his job for things beyond his control.

The offense scored 4 runs or less in 16 games this month. People like to say it was just the pitching but it wasn't. You take away the double digit run games, we had 4, and the offense was terrible all month.

Most games we outhit the opponent and still lost, much like tonight.

Man, you guys are priceless. The point is that Lackey and Crawford are proven great players and they turn to crap under Francona.

Don't you wonder how Lackey was an ace for so long under Sciosia, or how Crawford was an All Star for so long under Maddon.

Seriously, compare Maddon to Francona. Really, you guys need to just shut up tonight.

I don't care if Francona stays or goes but to pretend that a new manager makes everything better is shortsighted.  This team was not well constructed.  How do you sign a player to a 140 million dollar contract and have no place in the lineup for him?   The front office should be cleared out for that alone.

scott you said it, we have a big problem with getting runs home, that falls on the manager,, and every year he goes in opening games like it s,t,. thats why we have so many injuries. he needs to be gone for 2012. we need some one with backbone, cona what to be best buddies, not a good remedy to win it all.

You're kidding, right? Of course he's not responsible for the baserunning errors. That's why teams employ base coaches. It was Bogar who waved Scutaro ...what, you think Francona was singling from the dugout?

Careful what you wish for. The Sox have a chance to win it all most every year due to Theo. A majority of the teams in MLB need every single possible break to go their way just to have a sniff. Has he made mistakes/bad signings? Uh, yes, but what GM hasn't? He's one of the best GM's in baseball. Besides, isn't there a 5 year window after you win a World Series? Next season will be year 5...

Francona should have Pinch Hitted for Lavarnaway.  There is no excuse for that.  None.

PH may have failed - but any coach with half a brain would have done that.

He Pinch Runs for Papi - but doesn't PH with a lefty with bases loaded.

    Ridiculous.

Once again ... are you serious? Lackey was neither "a proven great player" or "an ace" (unless you consider a guy who averaged 12.8 wins a season an ace) with the Angels.

What were your expectations for Lackey? Eat innings and keep us in the game. Be a solid, reliable #3 or #4. If you were expecting anything more, you were fooling yourself...

Well Lloyd, you'd better check your Globe archives because he was certainly being called an ace when we signed him.

But you'll agree that he was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better under Sciosia than he's been here. You'll do that now, won't cha?

Sox lose, mentality of training camp was show up we'll win...no need to train hard, whats it mean...
Injuries, no stamina to finish the season...Sept of 11 will cost...John W. Henry needs to meet with Francona, and if he is not capable of working his players hard.
Francona, as much as I hate to say, could be gone by weeks end...Crawford goes to right, JD for sure is gone. If Theo Epstein was the reason we got Bedard instead of others that were available, he should go. Look at papelbon, Pedroia, Ellsbury, best condition. Worst Ortiz, Crawford, Drew, Youkalis, Jenks.
Henry...This team is too good for this to happen, look close at all the injuries and you will see most are conditioning related.

Yes, but in no way was he ever an ace. Anyone who expected him to be more than a 15-, 16-game winner wasn't paying attention.

He was the Angels "Ace" for several years. I get your point, and I was not calling him an ace when we signed him, the globe was. The Angels just never had anyone better, but they still competed and went to a WS. He started several of their opening days. There was even discussion of him starting our opening day in his first year.

I don't think Francona should be fired and he certainly isn't a piece of garbage. I think he should just resign or step aside. I look foward to following his career with another team !!

Tito's Pole is at it again.

What manager doesn't PH for a guy with TWO Major League starts who also runs like he has a piano strapped to his back?

He had two capable LH bats on the bench and anything other than a DP works there.
