Right now, we are 1/2 game ahead of Tito's Indians for the last wild card slot.

They're in first place in the division at this moment.

Attaboy, geo, you took them all the way from worst to first. Laughing

Indians in first place. Francona bashers still don't have a clue.

The manager's decisions on the field are the least important aspect of their job. What matters most is how they prepare and handle their players. It is not whether they call for a bunt, pull the infield in, call for a reliever just in time, or any other aspect of on field managing that mostly amounts to guess work. Preparation is the key role for a baseball manager.

Any statement made about a team being finished on 4/21 should be looked at sideways.  The Yanks were playing .500 ball at that point too.

had to laugh at his statement about Jimenez and sticking with him despite him once again on his way to losing 20....playing .375 ball or so and back to his Philly ways...no stars to bail him out there...

    man i miss that guy's managerial wizardry...NOT

Oh wait .... Tito got a team that anyone could turn into forerunners.

       Sorta like the Sox.

Except no one else, no matter how you classify it, color it, cramp it, be conflicted about it, made the Sox champions.   Not in my father's 93 year lifetime except back in 1917 and 1918, when he was in his toddling years.

And Bobby Valentine proved having championship calibre doesn't mean squat when you can't lead.

Hey georom4 - How is this thread working out? Indians look to be better than our Red Sox. And I think they are in first. Wow.
