In Response to Re: Friday night Game Thread:Twins at Red Sox : hey exam, did you ever hear of SOCIAL SECURITY? that was FDR not OBAMA. i never heard FDR referred to as a socialist. btw, here's a tea bagger sign i once saw "take the government out of my medicare."
    Posted by mryazz
Oh, I've heard him called that. He was one of the worst presidents this country ever had when it comes to social reform. Sure as heck hung Poland out to dry didn't he? And what about Social Security? It worked ok for a while, but like anything else of that nature, it's a ponderous beast that's about to collapse. By the time I retire, there won't be anything left. What happened to all that money I put in? And who will "take care of us" then? That crap don't work for long, but the problem is, once you get people USED to it, you can't get rid of it. Same with health care. He knows once people get used to having it there, it won't go away. Then, they can run the next line of socialist legislature through to gain control of more things, and so on down the line. If people cared for one another out of their hearts, things like social security would not be needed. Caring for your neighbor in the Christian way says "what's mine is yours", where socialism says "what's yours is mine". If we had more of that, we'd also all have more rescources to share, and to keep for ourselves--we'd all be better off instead of being up against it all the time. It's all about the heart man. In order for things to work, people's HEARTS have to change, and only God can do that. No amount of social reform can change who people are on the inside, and people can't change themselves very much. End of discussion, respond how you will--or not. I won' be here to read it. This game, like this discussion, has been extremely depressing. This team is toast my friends. Time to turn the page.

We will see in November but remember its the economy stupid and gas prices keep going up and up it has an effect on everything and Americans have been putting up with this for 4 years. So we shall see my friend in November but everyone I talk to is not voting for him and He has very little support in the liberal State I live in. The political discussions are a waste of time. It is like the Sox and Yankees. The divisions are that deep. I don't like to get emotionally involved in politics. I will just say this ; our current economic policies are clearly not working. This country is in decline. We really need to do something different.

He didn't produce it because it was an absurd request, never before perpetrated against a President.  I'm sure it is just a coincidence that he happens to be the first president with non-white skin.

I'm sure you're equally disturbed by Romney's refusal to release tax info, right?  Which is a common practice for POTUS candidates, unlike the racist birther cause.

" .. its the economy stupid..'

It's funny you use that since it's origin is Bill Clinton.  It's always the economy because unless it's working nothing else is possible.  And, if it's really the economy, .. unless you make at least $250K than you are voting against your short and long term interest.  All that "job creator" and trickle down economics nonsense is what Bush the elders said it was in 1980, .. voodoo economics.

And, the highest average gas prices in this country ever was $4.13 per gallon in July of 08.  And the only reason they came back down was the recession that began under the last administration just about wrecked the economy.

As my granddaddy once said: "If you can't beat mediocrity, your not worth a dang". I haven't seen a Sox team this inept since the late 50's through most of the 60's. I fear this is a franchise in decline.

How can you call people racist, cowards?? The fact is, the man is as white as he is black, which was not lost on the voting public. He and they, called Obama black, but everyone knew he was also half white. Dont throw racism in peoples faces because they dont agree with his policies or your opinions. Foul.

All things considered, the worst loss of the year. I don't know which was more annoying: the offense going 3-for-14 with RISP, Doubront's immature meltdown in the fifth, or that this thread dissolved into a political diatribe.

I throw racism in people's faces when they say "Obama is not a citizen" or that he is really a Muslim because that is a racist attitude.  It is isn't about policy or opinion and you know it.  Remember when W. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, etc... showed their birth certificates.  You don't, cause they didn't.  Just the black guy with the funny sounding name.

Michelle Bachman going after Muslim American members of the adminstration isn't about policy, it is about racism.

The Red Sox chickens have come home to roost. Blame the owner and his President (Larry not Barry), they let Theo waste millions that left the team in crisis and financially unable o do anything about it. Hmm, kind if reminds me of a great country that is in a similar situation.
