Friday The 13th: Part MMXXXX: Jason is Hitting Zero!

Buck wasn't any sharper or more efficient, though another fair effort. Jenks wasn't transformed by magic fingers. Jason is hitting zero.

    Comments, anger, concurrence?

I concur that he's hitting damn near zero, I am also angry about that.  I'm leaving a comment so I guess that makes me 3-for-3.

Buch should have made it through the 6th though.  He was robbed on both called ball 4's.  While they were close pitches, isn't part of Tek's value that he's one of the better catchers at framing pitches?

All that matters is that Buch got through the game and the Sox came away with the W.

Red Sox are playing .667 ball, 22-11 in Varitek's 2010-2011 starts.  Luckiest man in baseball.

No, 2010 was largely an academic season and 2011 hasn't been divided equally enough to pretend he's the cause of .667 ball. Get real.

As I say, he's the luckiest man in baseball.  He's a horseshoe, a rabbit's paw, and a four-leaf clover rolled into one.

You're right. 33 games isn't the end-all. Of course, neither are the one-game samplers you so often choose as your criteria.

Now, 12 years of near .600 ball as compared to .505 with/without Tek is another story...one you choose to ignore.

What's up with all of this 4 a.m. posting by Softlaw? I thought that he resided in Charlotte, NC?

Buch did better with Salty than Varitik, in his last two outings. Taking the team winning percentage is a credit to the team, not Varitik.

Harness is going to jump off the projects bridge when Varitek is put out to pasture. It's truly a shame that he couldn't be who he wanted to be. He'd be divorced with girlfriends and have a little money left in his pocket. He could claim he was a HOF catcher because he caught so many no-hitters and is the all time "CERA" great catcher. When they don't buy that, he will still have people coming up to him telling him how great he used to be. Instead, he's being supported by the National Trust.

NYC is not a nice place to see from your rearview mirror. I needed a tank to safely go through the Bronx. Organized crime and NYC are a perfect match.

Wakefield owns a 4.67 ERA in 476 innings throwing to Varitek, giving up three runs in 5 2/3 innings that first time they ever matched up.

Now you have lost it.  The Bronx has its issues like any other large city.  However, I spend time there with my family.  We go out to eat, park the car, and see Yankee games all the time.  We also go to Orchard Beach in the summer for days of fun in the sun.  You have no idea what you are talking about regarding Bronx safety or danger.  Please stick to what you know.

That has to send chills down the spine. Watching the magic combo of Varitek and Wakefield. The fear factor alone wins.

Jim, if he stuck to what he knows, we'd never hear a word!

Tek caught several of Wake's 193 wins.

    The Bronx has its issues

    • Violent Crime Comparison per 1,000 residents

    • NATIONAL MEDIAN
    • 4.7

    9.8
    4.52

    Bronx New York

No, you don't know what you are talking about. The violent crime rate is more than double the national average.

Organized crime also takes the family out in the Bronx.

Many large cities have higher crime than the national average because of obvious reasons.  That does not mean you need a tank to go there.  I have a Honda Accord and it works just fine.  You could quote meaningless stats or spend time there and form your opinion using a little more sophistication.

I don't think double the national violent crime rate is "a meaningful stat". It's per capita, so the "many cities" doesn't cut it. There is an obvious reason alright, but it is censored in every major media outlet and government in this Nation.

Sure it is.  The major media has a reason to keep the knowledge from you that the Bronx is dangerous just in case you planned to visit Rao's with Madonna or James Gandolfini.  Give me a break.  You used Hyperbole talking about the place and I corrected you.  You can find violence should you choose to.  However, my personal experience there is that of cool restaurants and a vibrant community.  But if you want to just go by what you read, have at it.

North Carolina, so I've heard, has had enough of Obamanation. Because the election was a close win in 2008 for Obama, they decided to pay for Charlotte. Times have changed, unemployed is high, I hear that most will protest the Democrat Socialist Workers and Entertaniners Party Covention.

Hope and Change, Part II should really resonate, David. Who are you voting for as President of the 53 United States?

'Vibrant' community?  The only vibration felt in the Bronx is the momentary sensation of a switch-blade rubbing against your vertebrae.

Blowing smoke?  I don't think so.  Here is how the world works.  The Marcy Projects in Brooklyn are really dangerous.  However, that does not mean that there is nothing to offer in Brooklyn of value.  I feel perfectly safe there.
