.393 vs .229? A no brainer, right? Not for a genius.

CC 1 for 2 with a walk, rbi and a run scored for Pawtuckett tonight. Played 5 innings and left healthy from what I can tell.

Sox really using up the bullpen tonight. At least they were well rested, coming in.

Is this where the Rays start to fade?

Not to worry harness, patience. They will.

For all the Red Sox struggles tonight, right now I'm enjoying watching a red-eyed Tony Larussa on FS Midwest try to explain how his team blew it's 16th save of the year--to a walk off HR by Brandon Phillips of all people. Perfect! Now, 4 runs by the Sox in the 9th and this night will be complete.

Riddick should have replaced DMac, not Drew.

2 outs to give, 3 runs.  The game is fading.

If the Sox don't pull it out, you can blame 5 of 7 walks that turned into 5 runs.

Shields vs. Lackey , tomorrow. Beckett seems to be okay for Sunday.

Not to belabor the point , but if Aceves started this game , it would most likely be in the win column right now.

You may just be right, it may come to that eventually. If you'd told me the Sox would hit 4 HR, and score 6 with Price starting, I'd have liked their chances. Oh well, can't win 'em all. Back to work tommorow. Trust me people, I'll make certain Sgt. Carter has another of his "motivational chats" with Lackey before the game. It worked well last week.

In Response to Re: Friday's Game Thread:Red Sox at Rays : Fair enough. The Sox are going to have to make a decision on him soon. I would like to see him start throwing harder , get some strikeouts and go a little deeper in games. Failing that, he might be better off in the pen.  His biggest problem seems to be his mechanics. Not unusual for a tall guy, like him.

    Gale,

I know this is a lot later, but I had to go in to the donut shop.  I waited as long as I could ...

I can certainly all the things you said.  I'd like to see him picking up the pace and challenge the radar gun.  It seems to me the mechanics are always tougher for a tall guy ... I'm the tallest in a family of midgets and they make fun of the way I walk.  "Hey, where'd you get your walking liscence?"  "Who gave you permission to get off four feet?"    "Heel to toe, heel to toe, come on!!!"  Stuff like that ...

I was thinking at the shop last night (humor me, I do do it... think that is.) that if we were 1-4 during his 5 starts and the Yanquis picked up his clone and they were 4-1 ...  we'd be s ucking Gotham gas again.  I'm glad for the 4-1 ... as well as the potential.
