J, that's what I posted about him during his NYY game in ST. He never got ruffled, and they had most of their A lineup in the game that night. He was cool and professional, never got ruffled--he was almost icy. It was neat to watch. Did the same tonight. If he's that cool under fire, the Sox may have something there. Not like A. Miller who gets easily distracted. -

In Response to Re: Game 4 thread: Red Sox at Blue Jays:encouraging start by Doubrant. calm demeanor on the moundI really like that kid. I think he'll be a bigger factor in the RS rotation than Clay this year. His curveball is just plain nasty.

I disagree on keeping Atchison in for a fourth inning. Too much time passed between innings (which is actually a good thing in this case). This is a logical time to bring in a new pitcher. I'd definitely have someone warm up behind Aceves, just in case. My choice would be Morales. -

Okay. Here we go. Can Aceves close it out? We have two blown saves already this year. Last year , Papelbon only blew a total of three all year. Let's not match that total in the first week. -

Bad news, Toronto just traded for Cabrera and Fielder--they lead off the ninth! They'll trade them back when the game is over!

I don't worry about AA's mental demeanor, I think he has a short memory. Just needs to execute. Jeff Brantley was the best I ever saw at forgetting what happened the night before. AA has the potential for that, not realized yet. -

Aceves could sure use the confidence boost of a save right here. -

I wonder if anyone has a career ERA of infiniti. That would be a funny distinction, despite the futility it reflects. -

This Thames guy looks scary. Looks like he could give the ball a dirty look and it would fly over the fence on it's own. -

p.s.... They have a new strategy with Aceves, as he speaks limited English. They told him it's the 7th inning. SHHHHHHHHHH! -
