Here is the thing: When Shane comes back, Bradley stays. Carp goes. Nava and Gomes are the backups. Should Shane then get hurt again, Nava or Gomes would start. You would then have to get an outfielder from Pawtucket to be a backup. Brown or Brentz would be the logical choice.

Exactly. Who is that OF? Neither Brown nor Brentz is really decent.

Nava and Gomes aren't exactly Paul Blair.

Agreed. But both are better than the other options we have in AAA ball

Well, let's hope Vic's fragile body can hold up. I'm thinking inclosing him in bubble wrap.

I don't want to brag, but earlier on this thread I posted that Lackey would have to be almost perfect because the SOX would be lucky to score 2 runs. Well, the SOX were lucky and Lackey was almost perfect. As of right now, if the SOX have an ace, my pick would be Lackey.

Lackey has pitched well for a long time now. All year last year plus the beginning of this year

Nice to get some insurance here. Don't want to see Beltre up as the tying run, even with Koji.

And the SOX never get him any runs. His W-L  record last year was very deceiving.

Not sure I'd use Koji, but I'm not the manager. He's gonna be used a lot this year, I'm not sure this a game he needs to close.

Obviously, Farrell has no faith in Mujica.

Brentz is not that bad, and certainly not so bad as to be concerned about his status as a #5 OF if Vic goes down.

A nice, needed win tonight. Good pitching . Much improved defense. Couple of clutch hits. Aggressive on the bases. Took advantage of the Ranger's sloppy play.  Keep it up.

Sizemore is a hustler the way he crashed into the wall.  Glad to see him get up ok and glad he is on the team.

Brentz needs to be at Pawtucket playing every day. There is no need to willingly lose depth at a position at which the organization is still relatively weak.

    VIC will be in Rf

    Sizemore stays in CF

     NAVA & Gomes in LF.

    NOW FOR THE BIG QUESTION.........

Given the health concerns with Vic & Sizemore, how do the Sox send JBJ down?

NAVA & Gomes are both poor options in RF!   JBJ is really the only option we have, for a guy who you can trust RF WITH?

Yesterday, we saw what happened with Nava in RF.  I LOVE THE GUY, but he's just too slow in RF.

    What do you say?

What I've been saying all night. Drop Carp and make JBJ the everyday CF. It's not rocket science.

OFF TOPIC: I'm watching BATES MOTEL, a so-so prime time soap opera. The actor who plays Norman Bates has a face and a voice that only a person with strong self-control would not want to beat the living c r a p out of him. If my dog looked like this guy, I'd put it out of it's misery.

Between Carp, Nava, and JBJ, the best choice, by far, is JBJ. Play JBJ everyday, he will produce offensively, and his defense is a given.

Freddie Highmore.  He played Charlie in the Johnny Depp version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  And he is suppose to look creepy.  He is Norman Bates!
