It happens this way most years that the red sox look promising...after the all-star break, down the stretch, they consistently lose to teams in their own divison that are contending for the division title with them.  This year, that includes the rays and orioles.  Record so far? 1 win and 3 losses.  Keep track of this.

What happens if they win this series?

Need CC and lackey to step up. Somebody has got to cool off rays

So far, the only thing that cooled off the Rays was the All-Star break.   Yell

If the Sox can't hit they are done. Their pitching is mediocre not like their competition.

The players play the game but management's responsibility is to put the best people in the dugout.

When teams see a weakness it spreads. Iggy and Drew are great defenders they are having trouble with the bat--we need some power treats or at least threats.

WMB and Bogaerts need to be brought up and inserted in the lineup to protect Nap who is protecting Ortiz.

Proposed lineup: Ells, Vic, Ped, Ortiz, Nap, WMB, Carp, Bogaerts and Lava.

Keep Drew for another week to see if the experiment of WMB at third and Boggie at SS works. If this doesn't work in a week try something else. If it works try to trade Drew, if that doesn't work DFA him. This is a business--he gets the balance of his 9.5 to stay home. Someone will claim him --probably the Yankees.

Why would the Yank-ems claim him? They already have a good defensive  SS who can't hit, plus Jeter is due back. The SOX are stuck with Drew.

Nunez is a nice player--I think Drew is a better defender and with the short RF porch at the stadium --he is a threat.
