I hate the fact that a closer can blow a save and then get the win.

Unfair, but I don't know who else you could credit the win to.

Bradley is really hurting this team right now, thank god Ortiz is around the corner.

We out-Rayed the Rays, limiting them to 3 runs in 3 games.  You have to like that.

Agreed. I was as big a JBJ "should be on the team" guy as anyone, but he has shown he probably took the step up too soon....not just offensively but defensively.....I give him a hearty handshake , a pat on the back for those 1st couple of games and tell him we hope to see him again sooner rather than later, but go down and become a complete ballplayer.

    That is very impressive.

Dice-K would have given up 3 runs in one inning alone.   LOL

I agree with you, he needs time to work things out. He took a jump from AA to Boston. Pitchers have figured him out. I believe he'll be a good player but not right now. Hopefully getting Big Papi back that will give the Red Sox a deep threat hitter again.

It was, Boston had a 2.96 team ERA coming into the game. I believe with Farrell the pitching has started to straighten out. I love those Japanese relievers. I'm not happy about the closers that could change.

Good term!! But being a Yankee/Rivera fan, you wouldn't know much about those!

It's tough to see Dempster pitch so good and not get the win.  Correct me if I'm wrong but he has yet to get a win???? He's pitched good enough for a #3 in my book and I hope he keeps it up.  Now even though I'm upset he didn't get the win, I'm highly encouraged with today's win. Ball games like this play out all the time, and you gotta win these ones.....all in all, it was a good win.

that's why W/L is stupid. The brand of shoes players wear is a more important statistic than w/l records for pitchers..
