    this was on 8/16..but man...

    Henry Owens: 5 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 10 K

Henry Owens is insane. He has those same 29 strikeouts as Webster in just fifteen frames. One more walk, too, but come on, this is unreal what he's doing in his introduction to Double-A. It's like they've never seen something like him before.

    • Justin Morneau wants to stay in Minnesota, but the Twins have rejected any offer to talk about a new deal, indicating they are ready to move on.  The Red Sox might have some interest in him with Mike Napoli struggling, but their Mike Carp/Daniel Navaoption at first base might a better alternative.

and this is from 8/16...could they be talking about morneau?

And back to it. Ty Buttrey's ERA falls to 2.53 as he continues to woo the Twins for whatever future trade they will acquire the no-true-outcome starter in.

The Sox system is loaded with young power arms. They are thin at first base, and power hitting outfielders. Lots of good catching prospects!!!

Ah ha! Another decent lineup. Sorry. Mike' but everytime I look and see you're not in tonight's lineup, I think it's OK. But, Mike, it is what it is, and you may be coming to the end of a pretty decent career. And Nava's is just strarting.

bosoxmal---you also realize Nap has been dealing with Plantar Fasciitis for some time enough now to keep him out of the lineup. If you haven't had PF ask someone about how painful it is especially if you are trying to play on it as an athlete.

Red Sox LHP Matt Thornton threw strong bullpen. He'll throw bullpen again Tuesday. Might remain in Boston and go on rehab assignment.

My prayers are for a Depmster deep performance, only six innings and less than four runs...Uehara if needed must make 5 outs...tomorrow might rain in Frisco...

Dempster kept the hitters off balance with a ton of off speed pitches last time out. Will it work again tonight ?  We will soon find out.

    Stabbed by Foulke.

anyone else wondering what farrell was thinking with tonights line up? gomes hitting ahead of nava, and a lefty drew hitting ahead of middlebrooks who a righty and has been hitting well lately? down right dumb if you ask me. these are pretty standard decisions that any manager should be able to make.
