Good that Don & Jerry aren't broadcasting the game today...it is not very good so far for Sox fans. However I am tired of Bud...unless it comes out of the fridge! -

Was working and missed the pre-game. Valentine isnot the cause of this, I just think they over estimated the backup huys on the team. The reason why someof theseguys are available is because they have holes in their game, like DMac, Ross, Spears, Repko. They cannot carry the load for the injured guys. I am beginning to think that Ben Cherrington overestimated the pitching staff here. n response to "Re: Game Thread 13: Yankees at Red Sox -100th Anniversay Game*************************":In Response to Re: Game Thread 13: Yankees at Red Sox -100th Anniversay Game************************* : Think Valentine has ripped the heart out of them, upper. Did you notice all the players around Francona?? I was hoping when they came back from the break Tito would be in uniform and the dugout. Posted by J-BAY -

There aren't any AAA guys playing for the Yankees so what are you talking about?

It always amazes me how many Sox fans focus on the lineup and hitting as though pitching has nothing to do with the outcome.
If you actually watch the game, you will see that Buchholz is stinking it up out there and that Nova of the Yankees is right around the strike zone, but not in the middle of it, and he is mixing up his pitches. When the Sox get someone in scoring position, Nova really bears down. In the 3d he struck out AGon with Sweeney on 2d.
And, in case anyone is interested, the Sox starter has an ERA of 9. Nova's is 3.94. -

Since they moved *to* Kansas City. The old joke was that the Kansas City A's were the Yankee's AAA farm team. -

The Sox make every pitcher look like a stud....there are huge holes all over this line up. And the pitching is even a bigger mess. -

read somewhere that Sox have a major league record for payroll sitting on injured list. at some point, enough of them will be healthy enough to play and hopefully make a diff. -
