This is a head scratcher.  Gomes and Nava batting 5 and 6, 3/17 and 1/18 respectively against Price.  Reigning player of the week Middlebrooks whose 5/10 vs price batting 8th.

And on top of it, why not let Bogaerts play this game against the lefty.  Stephen Drew is 0 for 7 lifetime against Price with 3 K's.  Why not play Bogaerts tonight? He's 5 for 9 against lefties.

Good point ADG. Perhaps JF is more concerned about the "D" in the first game of the series.

Wrong.  Everyone knows Bogaerts is the next gold glove SS and Drew has no range.  Or something like that.

For tonight's game, the Red Sox should be most concerned about scoring runs, given that Buchholz will be done after 4 or 5 innings at most.

Stephen Drew is being paid 10 million bucks .  That is why he has to play shortstop. That has been the case all year. That's certainly not going to change now.

    Stabbed by Foulke.

Exactly, gale. They're not going to let him count his money, while sitting on the bench

Derek Lowe is doing the next 3 games, with Orsillo.

Buch on a 75-80 pitch limit. Needs to stay away from a big inning, to manage his pitches

Nice story on Valentine in this week's Sports Illustrated. He is enjoying his new job as A.D. at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield Ct.  Rides his bike to and from work every day.

Good first inning.  Clay had a couple get away from him up and away.  The big strike zone should help.

Buch's control is looking better this inning.  A couple hits, but nothing hit all that hard.
