Hopefully we get some clutch hitting and well timed RBIs.

It's not necessarily a big game, but it's true that we need to maintain our lead for best record in the AL, which is currently 2.5 games.

So Boston can finish off their businesses by taking care of winning the East title, and geting the homefield advantage thru out the playoff.  So that way they can just relax so much next week

The Red Sox are only 2.5 games ahead of the A's and 3.5 games ahead of the Tigers for home-field throughout the playoffs.

That is right.  Had they won the game last nite, they would be 3.5 game ahead as well if they try to win again tonite, they would either stay at 3.5 to maybe 4.5 with 9 games to go!!

It is alot easier to win games now so they can relax for a bit next week.  Dont want to see guys start having a team meeting next week about should they try to go for the homefield advantage or just forget it so they can just rest for the playoff.

That is why Boston rather to keep winning games now to make things easier for them next week!!

9 is the magic number to win the league. Or 8 before the game starts if A's lose today's day game.

This is the best Peavy has  looked since his first start, after the trade.

That guest on NESN didn't get much help from Don and Eck.  He was waiting for the question about his show and Don and Eck didn't feed it to him.

Can't waste bases loaded no outs with. 4-5 hitters up.  Could have put the game away.  Now we are behind. Wow.

I would have preferred Lavarnway over Ross.  He is just hanging a hair over the Mendoza line, an automatic out with the game on the line.
