Re: Game Thread 159: Red Sox at Rockies

This is a VERY important game tonight. We need this win badly. If LA would happen to beak Oak tonight, coupled with a Sox win, it would all but sew up HFA. Even more, if Oak wins, we will need this game to stay ahead, because we lose the tiebreaker with them. Either way, its huge. Lets see what kind of will the Sox have tonight!

As I recall, we had a lot of trouble with Chacin the last time we faced him out there. He totally shut us down. Dont need that tonight.

Just noticed the A's play at 3:35 today. So by game time the Sox will already know what has happened. Might work as a slight advantage, especially if the A's lose.

The way I look at it we got a half game lead on Home Field, with the A's holding the tie breaker.

Helton's last game at home, and facing a good Pitcher. Sox got their work cut out for them.

A's lose! YES! Magic # down to 3. Perfect opportunity for the Sox. The door is wide open, step through, and a two game lead with three to play would be close to insurmountable. The Sox have GOT GOT GOT to win tonight. If this doesnt get them motivated, then what we have is a team that is not a championship team. Time to get it done. Jake Peavey? The ball is yours, GET IT DONE!

The Angels have certainly underachieved this season, but they still have a lot of talent and are not easy to beat. They are going to Texas to finish the schedule. That could be very good news for Tito and company in Cleveland.

For them this was like 2010 when we closed against NYY, took two of three from them, kept them from winning the east, and sent them to their demise in the Texas heat......

    Nice win by the LAA.

First LAA ruined Tampa for the divisional title.

Now LAA could possible ruin Oakland's chance of getting HFA.

Not only that, thanks LAA for signing Hamilton where they ruined their whole team while Boston become one of the best team in MLB.

    Thanks LAA!!

bats are Getting too quiet lately, need to build some momentum before playoffs.

May be pull Peavy, let the BP shut them down.  That means no Workman or the Drake.

at least the bats are swinging better today than yesterday.
