i wouldn't worry about the doub-ious one. once he pitches himself out of the rotation, webster will step in, assuming the other starters stay reasonably healthy.

btw, the dice-k comparison was very accurate. douby will be a bullpen killer.

If anybody can get into this kids head, it's Farrell.  He's got the goods, but usually tires, physically & mentally after the 5th.  He certainly carries himself like he smokes, as he doesn't have a hell of a lot of fire.  Not sure you can teach that?  If somebody could light a fire under his arrss, the kid could be something pretty special.  Very good #3 for sure!  You are correct though.....   He's got to be able to get through 7 strong at some point in time.  At least 6 strong!  I certainly wouldn't give up on the kid!  I'd have Pedro kick a little more butt!  Gotta give him credit, getting it back together today!!!!  Nice job Doubs!  Wait 'til after the 6th to spark it up!

Win, lose or draw, Doubrant became a pitcher tonight. You couldn't ask for a gutsier performance, and I think it will g a long way for him (and the Sox)

I like the kid, I liked him when he first came up.  I think he has a great future with the sox.

The official scorers in MLB make some strange rulings. There is no way that was a hit.  Middlebrooks had time to make a throw and threw it in derrière.  Napoli got a great hop and dropped the throw.  Somebody should have gotten an error there.

I think because it was a hot shot and took a bad bounce. Had he held on to it, it would have been an infield hit.

I'll probably be given cause to regret posting this, but this well balanced, working the count, well pitching, gritty, making full use of Fenway team is starting to remind me of the 07 team. Im curbing my enthusiasm, its still April. Lots can go wrong......
