Yeah, it was not a good move to bring him back up. It's called the YIPS.

But he cant blame the transition to starter for this, neither can we. It cant be that simple. His mechanics should not have changed that much for being a starter. I think hes just turned into a head case, mechanics troubles are only the bi-product.

But a good move by Farrell to get him out of there fast, his hook much much quicker than Tito's.

It's clearly a situation where you throw it right down the middle, not caring if he hits it out.  If the catcher had a signal for it, especially against Pena, he throw down the signal for a meatball on 3-0.  If you don't have enough control to throw a FB down the middle, how can you pitch when you need to be a whole lot finer?

Thats the salient point J. This Astros team is awful, which is why Im cautious about getting to hyped up over even winning all four.

He might be a deferred head case.  He had a 47/78 K/w as a starter in the minors.  He had a lot of success in the BP, but he might always have been one pitch away from snapping.  And September, 2011 might have been his undoing.

yeah, but it helps build confidence, individually and as a team, especially in April. Spills over into the cluhouse, too. Regardless, sure is nice to see Boston atop the leader board.

A series like this is about banking wins.  You need 90 wins to have a serious shot at the playoffs, and closer to 95 for the division.  When you think in terms of only needing to be 18 games over .500, if you can sweep, that's four of the 18.

Ballsy call putting Miller in, but I like it.  You have to gamble that you can hold a 4-run lead without using your closer.

Is there anyway to keep the Stros in town for a month? I know it's not possible but dam that team is plain old not good. If they played the Sox 100 times I'm not sure the Sox would lose any games.

Let's not take anything for granted.  People were that about us last year.
