Middlebrooks and Drew continue to bat 8th and 9th.  With Salty at 7th, it's not much of a bottom third of the lineup.

Funny thing, but Ellsbury leads the team in runs and hits and, amazingly, is second on the team in total bases.  But his OPS is like .716 and his OBP in the low 300's.  Victorino does better getting on base, but both Victorino and Pedroia, the #2 and #3 hitters, have not shown much power.  Forget dingers--they aren't getting many doubles or triples.  On top of which, I fully expect Ortiz to get fewer and fewer "pitches to hit" because Napoli, despite his rbi's, does not intimidate pitchers.

"We fully expect and are hopeful that this will be near the 15 days before he's activated," Boston manager John Farrell said.

Triage, not traige.  The Sox were doing OK with just one of Bailey or Hanrahan, so this is not exactly a severe blow.

Question of the night is: How long will it take for the Twins too ask the Umps to check Buchholz for throwing the imaginary spitter conjured up by the loser announcers from Toronto?

I dont see Gardy doing anything unless he truly believes something is going on. He will look at what the ball is doing, not Buchholz so much.

Strange question, but for those of you watching on Extra Innings, does your picture  look off? On mine, it's zoomed in too much with the scoreline off the screen. Yet on other channels, it's fine.

Told  you it was a strange  question.

I'm watching on Extra Innings. Picture is okay. One thing I notice is that I get a different picture on my flat screen than I do on my older TV.

My guess lloyd is that it might be related to the picture setting on your TV...Even though the other channels are fine there might be some settings glitch making that happen....Just double check your settings to be  sure, if you have not done so already...I had Extra Innings for 2 years in a row (now I have the internet package), but I never saw that happen...And  that is coming from a basball lover who watches a fair amount of games working out on my treadmill, or if I am having the occasional wastoid, do-nothing weekend...Good luck with that in any case....It would definitely annoy me...
