Anybody miss Papelbon yet, I do. They should name Hanrahan,"Gopher Ball". National League pitcher trying to blow a straight fastball past hitters. Reminds me of Gagne.

Philly would trade Pap for nothing if someone will take his contract.

Is Hanrahan hurt or did he just want out of there ?

Well, he DID have the stuff And the makeup. When he was in Pitt there were times he was unhittable, as good as they come. What this crap we see now is is anyones guess.

Hanrahan just isn't built to pitch at Fenway. Okay, that being said. I still like this team. Making the third out at 3rd was dumb. Frustrating night.

I think it is a different situation with the pressure of closing in a place like Boston.

Mort can't be trusted in a close game but I guess there is no one else.

Two closers. Andrew "Bubble Wrap Me" Bailey and this clown Hanrahan AKA Gagne. Unreal, so glad they let Papelbon go. Boy Oakland and Pittsburgh must have seen Young Ben coming they dealt both of these guys. Neither one of them has a clean inning when on their game and they put a thrill back into the save.

If he steals , put Morneau on.

Guys , when Pap left , everyone said it was too much money to pay a closer. Maybe it is , but blown saves are demoralizing. And we have had plenty of them since Pap departed to Philly.

Maybe, but how much more pressure could there be in this particular game compared to another game somewhere else? I think it could be more that hes gunshy about his injuries, and that has sapped his confidence.

But lets not forget, Papelbon had his share of trboubles. After 2007 he declined somewhat. Dont forget the LAA game from 2009.

Everyone will blow a save. Even Rivera. But Pap did not blow too many. Not like we are seeing last year and this year.
