Nice homer by Victorino.  It's only the second inning.

True. I might turn it back on at some point.

Anyone else thing that Els is just an average ballplayer? He is nothing like he was a few years back and wondering if he will ever be...

From what I see , his bat speed is not what it was. He is late on a lot of pitches. Fouls them off . Don't know what the problem is , but he is nowhere near the hitter he was in 2011.

Doubront is going to have to go a few innings. The bullpen is in bad shape.

wow this is just brutal, right after gomes puts us back in it and drew gave us the lead, webster is getting shelled and perhaps as someone mentioned he is tipping his pitches. doubront was aweful as well, theres no way a sub .500 team like the twins with a middle of the road offense should be putting up 11 runs in 2 innings, thats just unacceptable. this team has some major holes and they are starting to show. the offense prior to tonight scored 10 or 11 runs over the past 5 games and has been inconsistant to date. the pitching has been way above where it will likely be for the majority of the season as no way buchholz and dempster keep up there current pace. doubront has essentially pitched himself out of the rotation and tonights performance just made things worse. webster should be given another start as sending him down after tonights disaster would do more bad then good. obviously he cannot be counted on goin forward although I really hope he turns it around. I was really hoping he would pitch well tonight and grab the number 5 spot in the rotation, unfortunately he imploded and will hopefully do better next time out. (assuming he gets another start)

No, its the fact that he throws every pitch in the middle of the plate that is his problem

Fans are overreacting to Allen Webster's disappointing start tonight just as fans overreacted to Webster's impressive first MLB start.

Webster remains a promising prospect who probably is neither as good as his first start suggested nor as bad as tonight's start suggests.

Ok then how good is he then? If he is somewhere in between the two then he is a 5th starter type?

So after two pretty good starts in April, Dubront's last 6 innings in two game in May  =19 hits and 10 earned runs...

notice how the twins keep getting scoring opportunities and cashing in on them where the Sox have done the opposite... they should have scored something last inning but came up dry.... btw... Papi had two pitches down the middle that he missed on and it looks like he is cooling off some..  to be expected but someone else has to step up...

23-year-old Allen Webster still reminds me of 22-year-old Seattle starter Brandon Maurer, another righthander taken in the late rounds of the 2008 draft. Maurer has an ERA of 6.06 in six starts this season, but an ERA of 3.13 in his last four starts, including three quality starts (two against the Texas Rangers):

    http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.cgi?id=maurebr01&t=p&year=

Maurer started Seattle's fourth game of the season, but was recently skipped in the rotation in favor of No. 5 starter Aaron Harang.

So unless the starters pitch a lot better than the last rotation, this team really is in trouble. They all need to go at least 7 innings because the bullpen is awful.

Nobody in the major leagues could possibly be as bad as tonight's start suggests.

Thats true but the bottom line is that its Lester Buch Dempsey and Lackey who have to stop this little slide.. not Webster
