I'm truly sorry for this post but, can't Salty be the (onceaweek) catcher I know were slumping even with Ross catching lately but he is such a superior catcher I just can't wrap my head around this. One thing is for certain,Salty can never ever say he never got his chance. This is the last time I will ever again speak of this issue, except to myself.GO SOX!!

Hanrahan has damage to his flexor tendon, which protects the UCL in the elbow. Has to decide to try rest and rehab or season-ending surgery.

Salty is fourth in OPS among all catchers with at least 50 ABs in the AL.

Re: Game Thread 36: Blue Jays at Red Sox

If Ross plays everyday he will get exposed offensively and tire out quickly at his age, thus compromising his defense.

Im not sure why all the hate for salty. Hes a middle of the pack catcher, not great and not awful. He has good offensive numbers for a catcher. Look around the league and all the starters and compare them. Salty falls in right around the middle. Thats not bad. We have a lot more things to worry about right now than catching. Hes a FA this year and we have 2 options available next year in Lavarnway, and my choice, Christian Vasquez.

Fourth among 19 qualifying catchers puts him in the top tier right now. He strikes out too much but his other numbers (offensive) are good. Still stinks defensively.

I always pull for a sweep.  With the current slide, I do think 2 of 3 is important.

Wow -- six pitches to get out of the first. Nice.

Lester needs a dominating game to get back on track.

Offense isn't. They need to start picking pitches to drive. The 40 year old isn't Cy Young. C'mon now.

Very odd. A lefthanded pinch hitter ?  Maybe Davis got hurt ?  The announcers didn't seem to think anything of it.
