looks like a torn bicep. as soon as he let go of the pitch he grabbed his bicep and is out of the game. it's a damn shame because he was pitching a great game

Alan Webster may be up sooner than we think. He didn't look really good and if it's a bibicep tear that means more surgery

Hes gonna be done for the year I bet. I hope not, but that did not look good at all.

Give Webster the call and see how the kid does for a couple starts.

If his arm just blew up like it looks like it did, this has to go down as one of the all time worst signings in Red Sox history. What a total, unbeleiveable bust. To bad too, he looked good there for a minute today. But my question is, how could he come this far and have trouble like that now?

While it's a shame, I could live with that!  :)

Gotta give it up to Lackey, for coming back strong & looking real GOOD!  What a shame!

Re: Game Thread 5: Red Sox at Blue Jays

After last season I "swore off" the Red Sox. (Who wouldn't?) But with a virtually new team, I'm willing to give the Sox the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the ingredients for the division title aren't quite there yet, but I feel confident the team will win 85 games, assuming the starting rotation can give us at least 50 wins and the hitting is consistent. I wish i could be confident of Papi's return to full playing condition but I'm not. i don't expect to see him return until late April at the earliest. At his age, he seems to be taking much more time to heal. This achilles injury occurred 8 months ago and he still hasn't overcome it. Not a good sign, but I hope I''m wrong.

As you would say, maybe it has to do with plaster of paris.
