A few thoughts:  1 - Iglesias' fast hands and quick reflexes will make him become a good hitter, despite the naysayers. If Drew is given the shortstop job and Iglesias is sent to Pawtucket, it would be a travesty.    2-  Ellsbury is doing the correct thing. If they are going to pitch him away, he has to go with the pitch. Forget the home runs. Take what is there. 3 -  Napoli should be dropped down the order. Middlebrooks should be the cleanup hitter , at least until Ortiz returns.

I never cared all that much if my SS isn't a great hittter. I'd much rather be strong up the middle.  The guy is a typical, smaller, quick old school SS.  A 9 hitter. Who cares how great his hitting is?  Not you, but just in general. I'll take good at bats and singles/doubles all day from that spot.

It reminds me of the 2006 Alex Gonzalez situation where they acted like they do better and then they brought in awful Lugo because they were obsessed with OB%.

Give me D, then give me solid at bats, and things will fall in line.

D and pitching win you most of your games, as we know.

Well , defensively , he is already one of the best. Drew is not even close. The hitting would be a nice bonus and could make him an All Star.

Think thats how it will go tho, gale. Drew has to prove he's healthy and can play. He's a stop gap. If Iggy continues with his offense in AAA, they can trade Drew

I agree about the mistake over Alex Gonzalez .... he was slick and wowed me in the field.  I cannot blame Theo for trying to improve ... but that was a miss
