Victorino's speed helps cover things quick

Always been a fan from afar. 125%, runs through walls, etc. Can't fault a player like that.  Good arm, nice range, will make some mistakes from time to time, but you live with it due to good things overall.

    Dirt dog.

i agree. so what if he is overpaid... it's not going to hang the team. in the meantime he will give you 110% and does many things with excellence. even if he is not hitting well he will still produce.

The best part of the first 6 games is that visually at least, the Yankees and Blue Jays don't even look to be in the same league as the Red Sox. We just look like the better team.

The guys were talking about that earlier ... but Dicley was really sharp in th 4 dome games he had last season.

Time to run, fellas ....   looks like I can trust the Sox to ya for the rest of the game.

Great job by Lester and the bats

The real test for the sox and the East pecking order will be when they play the Rays and O's. Both teams looking good.

I have no idea why people were raving about the Jays in the offseason.  They picked up some trendy names, but that doesn't mean anything.

I actually felt the Sox did a better job getting different people with experience who would enjoy playing in Boston, especially in the pen (Uehara, Hanrahan). Dempster up front, too. He's kind of a goofball and used to ride his bike to Wrigley. I used to see him riding by. lol

While less splashier moves, they fill gaping holes.

exactly. those names they got from Miami just finished in last place.....  i dont see how them + a knuckleball pitcher and a HGH using fraud means your a favorite to win it all.

The hitters are being much more aggressive today. Sometimes the practice of working the count can be detrimental. Not a lot of guys are good two strike hitters. The MLB average with two strikes last year was just .175.
