Too funny. Maddox was just out there telling him how to pitch to Ortiz. Before he gets back to the dugout , boom. Game over.

He was as clutch as you can get in 2010. If he ever got back to that, man oh man would he help.

We knew Gomes was better than he had shown. Maybe this will get him going.

What a waste of an inning...first and third and nobody out and nothing to show for it... not watching the game so wondering what happened with Els....did he even have a chance to score?

If he had run hard from the start he would have.  I think he thought they would go for two and not throw home.

BB theory when I was growing up was that you go home to keep the other team from turning the DP, assuming you think they will turn the DP.

    Has that changed?

Ells 4 for 4, off left handed pitching

Nice to see him pick up where he left off.  Sometimes guys start breaking out, miss a few games, then come back to the slump they were just in.

No, I think that is still true.  Oh we'll, all is good thanks to Gomes and Papi.

Great pitching for us!  Quality start and no runs or walks from the pen!

Lester did OK...not great, but OK. Giving up three runs in six innings is an ERA of 4.5, a little higher than acceptable. Not bad. But not great either.

Doesn't get any better than that. Walk a batter to get to the next, first pitch, BOOM!!!! Walk Off BIG Papi, we know it well.
