it is waaaay early - but i think the wake/tek shelf life might be expiring during these dog days of a long season

3-1 in the 4th doesn't sound so bad except feeling no confidence in Wake to keep it at 3, and Francona won't pull him till at least 2 more cross the plate.

[QUOTE]For how long has the "vicinity" call been an out at second? -- like, forever? Don and Jerry are looking at the play, saying "he may have missed second..." --don't understand why don't they say the truth: you ALWAYS get the out at second in that situation. The umps pick THAT moment to be strict about the rules. Really?

ugh.....we need to keep Crawford at the top of the line-up where he flourishes. Its like he is lost batting down the line-up. Instead of just doing his thing and getting on base, he is forcing himself to try to get a big hit and nock in some runs. Just my 2cents

[QUOTE]We will now proceed to the usual Wakefield bashing , followed immediately by Wake's loyal legion of fans defending him.  Here is my plain , realistic evaluation: Wakefield is simply not very good. You can spin it any way you like, but with 44 games remaining , it is not a good thing if the best you can come up with to start is Wake. Sorry , but that is the truth.

    Gee, ya think?

The point is, Wake wasn't supposed to be in this role. We expected to have Matsuzaka and Buchholz in the rotation. Wake was supposed to be a spot starter and long reliever, not our number five (or four) starter.

exactly..he needs to be hitting second and pedey can provide more power and runs from the 4th - 6th spot

Pedey has done so well in the clean up spot, wouldn't mind seeing youk batting 6th, crawford second.

Well, he got that one right. Only wish he had called Pedey right in the first, not that it would have mattered.

the bag is there for a reason, if he didn't touch it than that's his fault. I mean the bags on the field are the corner stones of the game, they HAVE to be touched.

Maybe Lowrie needs bigger shoes or just needs to learn how to get to the bag like everyone else. Sure the umps nitpicked, but come on, it's not hard to touch a bag.

Plus the error was given to him so yeah....it was his miscue
