Really should have only scored one here--if even that. With the way this team's been hitting lately, with also the depleted lineup, it won't take much to get us in trouble.

Throwaway game for Tito. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

No such thing. If that's how he feels he needs to go manage in NY.

Bedard has had half his pitches fouled off-shame

I'm going to state here and now, Bedard takes the #3 spot in the rotation

Bedard unable to put the  hitters away. Pitch count means a short night. Bullpen will be taxed with day game tomorrow.

really costly error, 2 runs and a pitch count up near 50 thru 2 innings -- may have Aceves out there by the 5th

Bedard pitching pretty well actually... T-Bay just wearing him out... need a couple quick ground balls next inning.

I think I agree. I've almost seen enough to be a true believer in him. But can he hit too? The offense needs a jump start. Oritz on the DL or some such thing is not what we need.

I don't agree with Tito's philosophy here, but he rarely wavers on his ability to send out dreadful batting lineups, then explain them with such defenses as
    1. need to rest them before they get tired.
    2. we have too many guys battered and hurt.
    3. we won the first game, so the next game is just gravy

Both of those runs are on Lowrie.  Sox have to play catch-up every game lately.  Not a formula for success.

True, and the Sox are showin' 'em how it's done with a quick bottom of the second to let Neiman off the hook.

What bugs me is how the Sox call in sick after the day off.  Scutaro and Youk the other day, now Papi and Marco today. And Youk needs another rest day?

At this point, every game becomes important. Winning the first game is no reason to let up on the reins in the second.
