WHY WHY WHY WHY does Carl Crawford keep swinging at THAT pitch? It's nowhere near the plate, and he couldn't do anything but foul it off if he did. WHY? I just don't get it.
    Posted by TheExaminer
Well, it looks like it's coming straight down the middle until the last second, when it slides (hence the name) wide. Niemann has a nasty-assed slider. Still, Crawford is looking more like he did in April, which is not a good thing. He's clearly not reading the pitches.
Crawford looks miserable in Boston, he rarely smiles, even after a nice play and he's always hanging his head... I wonder if he regrets signing here?

Maybe the relentless fans have something to do with that.

Well, yeah, I get that some sliders do that, but some of the ones he's swinging at don't even start out as strikes. And he never hits them even so, so why does he keep at it--other than his head is screwed up right now?

I think we are tipping our caps to opposing pitchers just a little too much lately.  Sox offense is pretty much in a funk. That is making the pitchers look better than they really are.

A Conundrum. Is Niemann this good good or are the Red Sox offense terrible? Or could it be a combination of both. Only Cater, Babe, Yazzer, Softlaw,Bosox1941. Georom, Aligator, AlibiIke, and Andrewmitch - know for sure. Stay tuned - news at 11 p.m. For those of you who love Babe and Yazzer, they are here reporting directly M-F  8 am - 5 pm from their dead-end office jobs daily.

Dude, you are by FAR the biggest jerk on any of these forums, far worse than any of the people you mentioned. And you can say this about these people because of your great independant wealth and affluence?

Looks like he is not recognizing the pitch out of the pitcher's hand.  Strictly guessing up there.  He is totally lost, right now.  It is maddening because he is better than that.  Don't know what to make of it.

Terry rode Albers a little too long, another run to make up with our offense struggling.

Although our No. 8 hitter has a home run.
And there are plenty of 0-fers going on tonight.

Youkillis is out as well as Ortiz and Carl Crawford is back to what he was doing prior to the Yankee Series (swinging at pitches in the dirt and out of the strike zone). Maddon has made him look awful in every game he has faced him.
