Wow, he was good but there were too many plays he butchered
Why didn't he let that ball go foul in Tampa?
Why didn't he allow his momentum to carry his throw to home during the playoffs, again in Tampa.
There were other times when he missed played balls and made poor throws to home.
Was he good? Sure. But please do not mention his name in the same sentence with Dewey.

Strictly a second guess, but that inning might have been different if Lin had been out there. I don't know much about him, but his reputation is as an outstanding defensive outfielder.

Re: Ross fielding it's called "quid pro quo", you get something but need give something up. He's a better hitter than fielder and getting tossed out at home plate wasn't a great move either but at 4-0 to make it 5 I guess it was worth the gamble!

Went too long with Felix. You could see that they were teeing off on him after seeing him a few times.

It was 3-0 when I got home and turned the game on. I'm about to head out again, so hopefully it's me.

On the subject of Luke Scott's glasses, I am pretty sure only guys who take steroids were those nowadays.

What's doing Lloyd! It may not be consolation, but he seems to kill the Yankees, too. I was impressed with Doubront. He appeared to tire a bit, but the defense could have helped him out, especially the right fielder Ross - awkward routes on two big fly balls.
But, Moore throws the easiest 95-96 I believe I have ever seen. If he learns to change speeds a bit more...oh, my.

Atchison looked good the other day. That may have caused him to be a bit over valued. He is a career plugger. Nothing more. A little surprising to see Bowden DFA'd , and Atchison kept.

Well, that would have been a very different fifth inning had Youkilis handled that grounder at third and Ross played the ball in right better. Neither were routine plays, but they should have been made.

I agree. As much maligned as JD Drew was during his tenure, he played an excellent right field. He stole several doubles from Jeter over the years.

We've had huge 8th innings past 2 games and we didn't need the runs, I think ? Sure hope if we are tied or behind, we get a big 8th today too !!!

They do happen, but not not normally in a span of about five minutes resulting in two runs.
Your point is well taken. He was clearly losing steam. But I believe this guy can be a terrific pitcher down the line.
