Evenin' everyone. Win or lose tonight, it's great to see that the offense has finally gotten back on track! Er, at least it looked good through the first batter.

With the sawx pathetic offense it could get late early around here.
I have to say it again.  Norris' delivery reminds me of Clemens, especially his wind up.

And the results, too.  Sox are looking like the Mariners against Clemens.
In Response to Re: Game Thread Friday night Sox at Astros : Bud Norris is a pretty decent starter ... the 26-year-old righthander has been valued at 1.6 WAR* this season. As points of reference, Josh Beckett has been valued at 2.3 WAR, Jon Lester 1.5 WAR, Clay Buchholz 0.9 WAR and John Lackey 0.3 WAR. * Wins Above Replacement as reported at FanGraphs
    Posted by hill55
Good to see Lackey still has a WAR above 0.  He has the talent to turn the season around, hope he does in the 2nd half.

Norris is just striking out this lineup inning after inning.  Pretty impressive.

I saw Roger Clemens strike out 15 Seattle Mariners enroute to a one-hitter in the 2000 American League Championship Series:

Important to have the complete lineup - Papi, Ellsbury, Crawford, Youk, Pedey, Gonzo, Drew/Riddick, Lowrie/Scut.  This NL road trip sucks,

I believe he struck out twenty M's once, too.  That's what I was referring to.  I can't believe nobody else is picking up on the similar delivery.

No, I was already on the left coast (except for my stint at NU Law from '80-83').

A one-hitter after five. Red Sox, right now, are a pathetic ball club. What happens when they play the better teams?

Let me make sure I understand....The worst team in baseball is beating the Red Sox with pop flys, soft ground balls and bunt singles? Just wanted to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me.

I'm sure the Red Sox broadcasters have mentioned that the Astros acquired shortstop Angel Sanchez from the Red Sox for catcher Kevin Cash last summer.

It is really a shame that some posters ridicule Wakefield at every turn. He is a long time Red Sock and an all around good guy. He deserves better. That said, he really should not be in the rotation. The knuckler has become all too hittable. Aceves is a better option, at this point.
