Re: Game Thread - Sept 13 Jays v. Red Sox - Wakefield SP

Wakefield  should  have  been  let  go  in  2003  after  he  gave  up  the  homer  to  Aaron  Boone.  He  has  been  a  mediocre  pitcher  his  entire  career  and  has  been  fortunate  to  play  for  a  very  good  team.  The  Yanks  never  would  have  tolerated  Wake's  mediocrity  in  a  million  years.
On  another  topic :  Theo  has  to  have  the  best  job  in  the  world.  His  knowledge  of  baseball  is  equal  to  the  average  baseball  fan; he  gets  to  spend  hundreds  of  millions  of  Henry's  money  and  he  himself  gets  paid  millions  for  being  incompetent.

hes been a mediocre pitcher and yet he should be let go hmmmmmmmm.

So what your saying is every player on your team should be an all star, riiight?

well lets just increase payroll to 300 m I'm sure we can make it happen.

I think most everyone in the Red Sox Nation would agree with you "ct", BUT it will be Francona's decision to yank him now, or send him back out for the 6th.  Francona being Francona will most likely send Wakefield out for the 6th to try and save bullpen arms, as Francona has often said.  The hell with the win, gotta save those arms in case we get the the post season.

No. Don't like giving up an out. Basically , what you are hoping is that Salty hits a sac fly. That is not worth the out.

Not really. Crawford scores from second on that . And you never know what Scutaro might have done.

Okay. My point is that Crawford was already in scoring position.

Doubt that , but I will say that if Wake does not get his 200th tonight , it may never happen.  No way we can blow this one.
